Beloved mother

Beloved mother

If you are reading this while the house is finally quiet and your body is tired in places sleep has not yet reached, I want you to know something before we say anything else.

God sees you.

Not the version of you that manages to show up with a smile when everyone is watching.

Not the strong version you learned to become because there was no other option.

God sees the you that cries in the bathroom.

The you that prays with one eye open because a child might wake up.

The you that wonders if you missed something or if life was supposed to look different.

And I hear the Spirit of the Lord say you are not hidden and you are not behind.

There is a holy dignity resting on women who have learned to carry weight without applause.

There is a particular tenderness in the heart of God toward mothers doing it alone.

Not because you are broken,

but because you are brave.

You did not wake up one day and decide this path would be easy.

You woke up and decided love was worth it,

and heaven took notice.

I want to talk to you about union.

Not survival.

Not just getting through.

But union with God.

Union is the truth that you are not separate from Him in this season.

Union is the end of the lie that says you are abandoned.

Union is the quiet confidence that says even here God is with me and God is in me.

You are not trying to reach God from a distance.

You are not begging Him to show up in your mess.

He is already present, breathing through your obedience,

living inside your yes.

There is a lie that tries to visit you late at night.

It says if you had done things differently you would be more whole.

But wholeness is not found in a different story.

Wholeness is found in God making Himself known in this one.

You are not less spiritual because you are tired.

You are not less faithful because you feel stretched.

You are not less chosen because you are doing this without a partner beside you.

Heaven is not measuring you by what you lack.

Heaven is celebrating you for what you carry.

I hear the Lord say you have learned to mother from presence, not from perfection.

And presence is where I live.

There are prayers you are praying without words.

There are sermons you are preaching with meals and rides and hugs and discipline and gentleness.

There is a gospel being displayed in your home that angels lean in to watch.

Do not underestimate the theology of your everyday faithfulness.

You think the moment you missed was the altar call.

But heaven says the moment you stayed was the altar.

When you stayed when it was hard.

When you stayed when it was lonely.

When you stayed when you wanted to run.

That was worship.

Union means God is not waiting for you to become something else before He moves through you.

Union means He chose this place as His dwelling.

The Lord is not intimidated by your questions.

He is not offended by your exhaustion.

He is not distant from your grief.

He is near.

And not near like someone standing across the room.

Near like breath in your lungs.

Near like strength in your bones.

Near like wisdom rising up when you did not know what to say.

You are not carrying this family by yourself.

You are carrying it with God.

There is a grace on you to do what you thought would break you.

That grace is not accidental.

It is evidence of union.

I want you to hear this clearly.

You are not raising children from lack.

You are raising them from intimacy.

They are learning what faith looks like by watching you trust God in real time.

They are learning what prayer sounds like when it is whispered through tears.

They are learning what courage feels like when love shows up anyway.

Do not despise the hidden years.

Do not curse the quiet seasons.

God does some of His deepest work where no one else is clapping.

There is a strengthening happening in you that will outlast this chapter.

There is a clarity forming in you that will guide generations.

And I feel the Lord say, tell her I am proud of her.

Not proud in a distant approving way,

but proud like a Father who knows the cost of obedience.

You are not invisible.

You are not forgotten.

You are not failing.

You are becoming.

Union means even now God is forming Christ in you.

In your patience.

In your restraint.

In your fierce love.

In your daily surrender.

There will come a day when you look back and realize heaven was closer than you thought,

that grace was thicker than you felt,

that joy was growing even while you were tired.

And the fruit of this season will speak louder than the pain ever did.

So take a breath.

Let your shoulders drop.

You do not have to earn what has already been given.

You are held.

You are seen.

You are in union with God.

And He is not letting go.
