Ephphatha

There is a word tucked into Mark 7 that wrecks me every time I hear it. One word. Spoken by the Word. It was not poetic. It was not polished. It was raw. Guttural. Deep from the gut of the God man. It came with a groan. A sigh. A sound that shook something invisible loose.
Ephphatha.
Be opened.
That is what He said to a deaf and mute man. Mark 7 verse 34 says Jesus looked up to heaven, sighed deeply, and said it. Not as a suggestion. Not as a gentle encouragement. He commanded what had been shut to open. He spoke to ears that had never heard and a tongue that had never moved. And in one moment, everything that was closed broke open under the sound of His voice.
This is not just about healing. This is about authority. This is about beloved identity.
Because when Jesus said Ephphatha, He was not just healing a man. He was announcing what the Kingdom does when it touches sons and daughters. It opens what has been locked. It speaks to what has been shut down. It gives back what religion tried to silence.
The miracle did not begin when the ears opened. It began when Jesus pulled the man away from the crowd. He did not heal him in front of the masses. He took him aside, one on one. Intimacy before impact. He wanted the man to hear love before he ever heard sound.
That is how the Father works. He does not just give you a voice. He roots you in identity before you ever speak a word.
This is not just about ears and tongues. This is about hearts. This is about generations of sons and daughters who have been shut down, shut out, and shut up, waiting on a word that reopens everything.
Be opened.
Be opened to beloved identity.
Be opened to the sound of the Father’s voice.
Be opened to dreams you buried.
Be opened to the weight of glory that religion said was too much for you.
Be opened to the kind of love that rewires your history.
Be opened to the Kingdom.
There are so many in the Body right now who have ears but cannot hear the frequency of Heaven, who have mouths but cannot speak the authority of sons, because they have not heard this word yet.
So I am saying it to every locked up, beaten down, overlooked one reading this:
Ephphatha.
Be opened.
Open your ears to the whisper of the Father that tells you who you are.
Open your mouth to declare the works of the Lord like a son, not a slave.
Open your spirit to receive what fear told you you would never carry.
Open your eyes to see you were never forgotten, just being positioned.
The crowd saw a mute man healed.
But the Kingdom saw a voice released.
And that is what Jesus is doing again. He is releasing voices. Not echo chambers. Not religious puppets. Sons. Carriers of the Word. He is groaning again over a generation, groaning the way only a jealous Lover groans, and the sound coming from His lungs carries resurrection.
So whatever has been shut in you, shame, fear, trauma, confusion, silence, it bows to one word:
Ephphatha.
Be opened.
And do not just be opened so you can talk louder. Be opened so you can speak as one who has heard. Sons do not speak from opinion. They speak from encounter.
The Kingdom is not waiting on another sermon. It is waiting on voices born from open ears.
And if He has opened your ears, you better open your mouth.
No more silence. No more shame. No more wondering if you have permission. You do.
You were never created to live muted. You were created to announce the Kingdom with every breath.
So here it is
Ephphatha
Be opened
And speak like you know who you are
