The Love of God Through Us
The greatest miracle the world will ever see is not a blinded eye opening or a dead man rising from a tomb. It is when the perfect love of God is manifest through imperfect vessels. The heavens still tremble when the Creator chooses to express His heart through His creation. This is the mystery of the Gospel: not just that God loves you, but that He has chosen to love the world through you.
The love of God is not a concept. It is not a sermon point or a doctrinal position. It is a force. It is the nature of God Himself because God is love. That love is not sentimental or soft. It is not a distant, polite affection. It is fierce. It is jealous. It is burning. It is the very fire of His being that moves toward humanity, not away from it.
If you are in Christ, then you are not just a recipient of that love. You are a carrier of it. You have become the temple through which the river flows. And that river does not trickle with measured reserve. It floods. It overwhelms. It consumes. The question is not whether you have access to that love. The question is whether you are surrendered enough to let it pour through you without obstruction.
There is a danger when we talk about the love of God that we reduce it to something that exists only for our comfort. We think of it as the thing that makes us feel better about ourselves, that soothes our wounds, and affirms our value. And yes, His love does all of that. But that is only the beginning. If His love stops with you, then you have turned a flowing river into a stagnant pond. The love of God was never meant to terminate on you. It was meant to move through you.
Jesus said in John 7 that out of the innermost being of the believer would flow rivers of living water. He was speaking of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is the manifest love of God in action. That means when the Spirit fills you, He intends to overflow from you. Your life is supposed to be a conduit where Heaven’s affection meets earth’s deepest need.
This is why the early church could not be ignored. They were not just preaching a new set of moral rules. They were not selling a new religion. They were burning with a love so fierce that it confronted every power of darkness. They loved when it was costly. They loved when it meant risking their lives. They loved the poor, the sick, the forgotten, and the despised. They did not just tell people about Jesus. They embodied Him.
And here is the truth: the love of God flowing through you will often look like something the world cannot explain. It will lead you to forgive people who have no right to be forgiven. It will move you to embrace those who have been pushed aside by religion. It will compel you to serve without expecting anything in return. It will cause you to pray for your enemies until their chains fall off. This love will break you and rebuild you at the same time.
Many believers never step into this flow because it demands death to self. The love of God through you is always connected to the cross in you. Jesus did not simply tell His disciples to love one another. He told them to love one another as He had loved them. That means laying down your life. That means letting His Spirit crucify your pride, your preferences, and your conditions. It is impossible to be a channel of God’s love while holding on to your rights.
When you release that control, you will discover something supernatural. You will begin to love in ways you did not know were possible. You will feel a compassion that is not from your own heart but from His. You will speak words of life that you did not plan. You will weep for people you once ignored. You will carry burdens for the hurting until they are free. This is the evidence that Christ is alive in you.
Do not misunderstand. This love is not a human effort. You cannot grit your teeth and force yourself to love like God. You cannot study enough or discipline yourself enough to make this happen. It is born from abiding. When you remain in His presence, you are not just learning about love. You are being saturated in it until it becomes who you are.
Jesus said in John 15 that if we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit, and apart from Him we can do nothing. Love is the primary fruit of abiding. And abiding is not a quick devotional in the morning or a desperate prayer at night. Abiding is the posture of staying face to face with Him, moment by moment. It is living with your heart anchored to His gaze. From that place, love flows without effort because you are not manufacturing it. You are releasing what is already filling you.
The reason much of the church struggles to release love is because we have traded abiding for activity. We think serving God is the same as being with Him. We think ministry is the same as intimacy. But without intimacy, ministry will eventually turn cold. Without His presence, our actions become mechanical. The love of God through us is sustained only by the love of God in us, and that requires the continual nearness of abiding.
When that love begins to flow unhindered, it will change the atmosphere around you. The people you encounter will feel it before they understand it. Demons will recognize it before people do. It will shift conversations, restore marriages, and heal wounded hearts. Not because you are persuasive, but because God Himself is moving through you.
And here is the mystery that shakes me: God has chosen to make Himself known through His people. The Creator of the galaxies has decided that His love will touch the world through human hands and human voices. He could have written His message across the sky or sent angels to proclaim it to every nation. Instead, He put His Spirit in us and said, “You go love them for Me.” That is not just a responsibility. It is an unspeakable privilege.
This is why the enemy fights to make you bitter, offended, and self-focused. If he can clog the flow of God’s love through you, he can keep people from encountering the reality of Christ. He does not fear our sermons as much as he fears our love. Because love is the weapon that disarms him. Love is the power that pulls people out of darkness. Love is the light that no shadow can overcome.
If you want to see cities transformed, start here. Let His love saturate you until it leaks out of every part of your life. Let it shape how you speak to your spouse, how you raise your children, how you treat your coworkers, and how you respond to strangers. Do not wait for a ministry platform. Every moment is a pulpit when love is flowing through you.
And remember, this love is not weak. It is not fragile. It is the same love that drove Jesus to the cross. It is the same love that went into the depths of death to bring us out. It is the same love that will not stop until every enemy is under His feet. When that love is moving through you, you are an unstoppable force because you are in agreement with the very heart of God.
You were not saved just to escape something. You were saved to become something. You were saved to be the living evidence that God is love. You were saved to be the proof that Heaven has touched earth. Every time you love someone beyond reason, you are releasing the reality of the Kingdom.
So let the river flow. Tear down the walls you have built to protect yourself. Let His Spirit remove the stones of offense and the barriers of fear. Stand in His presence until your heart beats with His rhythm. And then walk into the world carrying the fire of His love. You will find that it is the most dangerous and beautiful thing you could ever give away.
If you feel led to partner with what God is doing through this ministry, we invite you to sow into this work as the Spirit leads. Your generosity helps us continue to share His love and truth with others. There is no obligation, only an opportunity to join in what God is building. Thank you for considering being a part of this journey.
